DESCRIPTION:Our first call meeting to call a new resident pastor will take 
 place on June 14th after the service.\nCall meetings are the tools that Pe
 ace uses to ask a man to serve as our pastor. To help you understand the p
 rocess\, these meetings are something like voting for a political candidat
 e (please don't jump to assumptions). As with voting for a political candi
 date\, all the voting members of Peace take part in this process.\n\nYou'l
 l come into the meeting.\nYou will be presented with about three candidate
 s. You'll receive basic information about them (names\, locations\, famili
 es\, education).\nYou'll be able to discuss them for a little while.\nYou'
 ll vote to call one of them as our next pastor.\n\nUnlike hiring a politic
 al candidate\, this process will be filled with prayer\, the Word of God\,
  and mutual encouraging. We are following the Scriptural example of Acts 2
 :13-26. In that section\, we see that the disciples need a new man to serv
 e in the place of Judas.\n\nThey gather together (verse 15).\nThey review 
 a list of acceptable candidates.\nThey cast votes for one of the candidate
 s. \n\nAll members are welcome to attend and learn about the process\, to
  hear the encouragement\, and to support each other. Voting members will v
 ote. \nWe expect the meeting to take place in less than an hour. The firs
 t time might be a little longer as we explain the process. \nAfter the ca
 ll meeting\, the council will inform the man that we have called him to se
 rve as our pastor. \nHe will acknowledge the call in a letter back to the
  congregation. \nThen the congregation and the man will talk with each ot
 her and determine if God is asking him to serve at Peace at this time. \n
 May God be at work among the people of Peace and our gospel ministry as we
  listen to him and follow him! \nPeace be with you!
